Executive Decision

Seems like the machine is right this time - BIPAP ASV. I felt deep rest last night. The advice from the device clinic and from my co-producer was spot on.

My walking out happened at the precise time for maximum effect. The meeting was for quality and patient safety and was not working while I was in attendance.

Take the prescribed path until it does not work anymore. Escalate. If that fails, top-down. Dealing with human multi-level hierarchies takes a skill that is not well known. Experience has trained me well.

The outcome is a machine that can be programmed for me so I can get enough oxygen during sleep. And that happened without taking too much risk - stopped breathing, not good.

Waiting a week for the report and, soon thereafter, having one at home.

Director's Ears

Mics Live

The studio's audio capability is about to take a giant leap forward. Recorded conversations are a core to its initial product.

The aural component is critical to successful outcomes. In the days and weeks ahead the log will show the progress of the effort.

Viewing films with modern sound and direction open up new and deep vistas in story telling.

Baking Implement

The greedy part of American medicine makes individual health care less than the best. Much less.

http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/QAA400761/Marijuana-for-Cancer.html

For instance, take a natural medicine that has existed for a very long time. You can't make enough money off of it to do the necessary research and development. Even if it is a cure for cancer. Because you can't get intellectual property protection (patent).

Money should serve people in general. Not just the biggest owners of capital and/or property. The economy is subject to the way the powerful define and control it.

Collaborative folks using state-of-art tools will change the status quo dramatically. I am pretty sure.

Its A Secret

Since one the team members almost never reads this, I would like to say a few things. Often this is where  things are first written that are germane to the evolving story. Since said party is a participant in what will be disclosed here, I am interested in how he will find out.

You see it was he that marked up the napkin at Roasteria last Sunday.

Hearing: The Brain

A third meeting on the hearing part of the story. I have the requested ID number. Insurer recommends another vendor who has the various hearing aid brands including Oticon.

I will have my own trail set of two (both ears) by next Tuesday. The demo was impressive. If it holds up in the environments I frequent, it will be a major productively improvement in my life. I don't expect to return them for my money back.

Cancers of the Societal Kind

Peter Coyote narrates a particularly well-crafted 2010 documentary.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpVNtCyj2TY

It is on youtube. I studied it because it was apparently shot with low-level gear. Further, it is masterfully edited.

Current mega-trend to mindfulness in health is the subject. The story presented is in some-of-the-best  documentaries that I have seen.

Tools of Story

Rampling up quickly on the wireless keyboard connected to the 6+ iPhone. "With me" is mostly better than before. Handy when the creative mood strikes, which can be just about anywhere. Dick Tracy, eat your heart of out.

Learning Fade In app on 6+ for Screenplay editing. Taking the wireless keyboard when I go too.

Comfortably Known?

Rebecca and Margie
On hearing two women, one interviewing the other, I thought back to the early days of EyeDentify "pumping the technology" on the local "tube."

Imagine, moi being interviewed on TV by one the these babes and later by the other.

But there were dark times ahead of that fun part.

How could I have known that the man encouraging me to get publicity would later become my nemesis?

Good story, in retrospect. Somebody has to be the antagonist. His name was Al.

And wasn't it 'comfortably numb'?

Beginning Perception

WTF. I was just commuting. I stopped along the way to get a haircut. Then weird things start to happen. But not completely though.

Ater all, I have been seeing the same barber for four decades. The african-american hair stylist would be fine.

When I emerged, there was trouble in river city. Not a fun place for a naive white boy who thought he was cool. Street cool is different.

Then I realized -- it was a not lucid dream after I finally woke up.

Meditation Like

Oxygen on the brain without the adrenaline rush. What a concept!

Note for later - 3D print a personalized CPAP mask. Ok, could not wait. I looked it up on Google:

autodidacticism in St. Louis
The day after the sleep study where I used the machine from the start. My inner self is in great gratitude as a result. This time, as opposed to ten years ago, I could tolerate the mask and machine. I did not feel as though I would suffocate as before.

Like Feynman and Leonardo (from da Vinci), self-learning is much easier with the web.

Tiptoe Through The Tulips

User interface not so good as what one expect based on the company’s other stuff. However, Apple responded immediately to my phone call after my purchase of a 6 plus. No wonder they are still number one.

Tiny Tim in the flower power age. Weird but not altogether without use. Stay with me here. The sixties planted a seed that is emerging right now. Old system thought has finally succumbed to necessity - ecosystem, health, sustainability etc. I think so. I am not alone.

Some large organizations see too. The maker of the iPhone, for one. Some growing companies, the same - likeTesla.

Stupider and Stuff Like That

Co-producer says my brain needs oxygen. I knew that, sort of. But what I did not know that my grey matter is pumping adrenaline into my body to keep me breathing while I am asleep.

What could wrong with that? Let me count the ways...

Good thing it only took me six decades to figure that out. Always thinking.

Bucky

As our ancestors in southern Oregon would say of our second cousin Bucky, “he is in the sneaker bd’ness (business).”

The famous advertising agency in Portlandia, not to mention the great strides in solving the cancer puzzle in Oregon's largest city, a mind set that encourages creativity. This is our home, ORYGUN.
