Miscellany?

"View page source is a handy feature. Can't remember yet what it was that I was looking for when I noticed it missing."

"More disturbing in my mind is why so many folks using PC's (and presumably, Outlook) change my reply address from Google to GoDaddy hosted email."

Mission idle is a great time to take the garbage out, clean up the studio and check on family/friends?

I am still a novice at understanding Luna-ese, you see. Not for lack of effort though.

Augustine

"If you have to live on the wrong coast, St. Augustine might be the spot. A friend does and I am pretty sure he does not work for the local chamber of commerce. I could be wrong."

---

"They call it Joint Venture. I call it cool. As I said to the guy on the other end, "this experience has already given me ideas on what fair exchange of value might look like in my friendly, robust and safe solutions for folks who enjoy running companies and BEING with their family and friends.

"This log talks about this fourth year as being one of 'convergence'. But that just refers to the log, not this personal journey it documents spanning decades."

Washington Square in Oregon
"Credit where credit is due. Writer's creed, Kirbster.

"It all started with something that happened Monday (yesterday).

"Went to the store to save some money by being honest with the friendly people there. Basically, to show them the device I purchased a couple of days before. Being a panic installer (Klutz) I broke it and the experience made me feel ashamed. I am a monster when I feel ashamed."

"So I brought it to the store to see what we could work out (their invitation.) Those kind folks showed me a way to get it fixed at much less than I expected with as little down time as possible. It was such a positive experience, I was talked into another purchase."

"There is more to the story but I won't bore you with details. One last comment though, I am a very happy camper now."

Art of Love

Risk Taking Creative
"Its a business story with an unexpected title - The Art of Love.

"Largely inspired by the works of one of the truly great screen writers of our time, Aaron Sorkin (In my view, he is best).

"Love is dynamic because it is the foundation of creativity. Risk taking. High risk, high reward. Have a seat friend and let me tell you the story of how this still young 'joint venture' came to be."

Viewer Perspective

Rather not share this with IT just yet.
"Put the iPhone 4s on a draft lamp arm and use it as a video camera on a boom?

His east coast friend suggested the old standby, duct tape, to attach the phone to the make shift boom. Understand that he rides motorcycles and has a doctorate in computer science."

"It would be a quick way to check for better camera angles before commiting to more permanent mounting hardware."

Sold Out

Racket?
I have been ranting about the subject in this log for more than a year. Now, writer Brill has consolidated the information accumulating on the US medical industry meltdown in one, convenient place.

"Spent ten minutes at the QFC news stand early this morning looking for a copy. I finally discovered they had sold out the magazine.

"A side note, is this the new printed magazine paradigm, the article you are likely to save in print form because it could be an archive of history in the making? Guess what, it is online too. But I may want a hard copy in the likely case it will become a collectors item."

Co-opted Mainstream Words

"Stalking is a weaponized word for some less than friendly folks here in Porlandia's state. Just to be clear, we are talking about the use of the word, rather than the deed it ostensibly represents. An important distinction for this discussion."

China military cyber offensive has a curious overlap with hacking that effects certain types of businesses conducted here in the west coast's least populous state. If we had a command economy, creativity would not sustain our biggest town as it does.

Barkey Dog

High Luna Audible Signature.
Know that the High Luna is the closest thing to an angel to come on the radar of my conscious awareness so far.

She does, however, have the mistaken impression that home is the cul-de-sac and all the homes surrounding it. I have not learned enough Luna-ese to explain to her that is NOT the case. Barking at certain events she can hear and see through the window in the middle of the night while the rest of the family is asleep is, shall we say, inconvenient.

Accordingly I am allocating some creative time to brainstorm an interim solution. Here at the Executive Outpost #2 (a neighborhood Starbucks) I have my obligatory 'Shot in the Dark' (short dark roast with two expresso shots) within easy reach.

The software only feasibility prototype (and potential future product), an iPhone 4 or later app. The idea is to flash the flashlight/flashbulb when said cosmic dog is detected barking by the mic. Other features include but are not limited to:

  flash on nth bark
only dogs can hear sound to associate with above
  pic or video
interrupted recording loop to 'record before event (nth bark etc.)'

The market risk is that there is virtually no one else with similar canine problem.

"Why would a modern executive prefer a Mac?"

"The security was built in decades ago. Not added on.

"The result is visually stunning ease-of-use that is highly secure when connected to the global network."

"Smart folks at the top are waking up to a simple fact of today's connected world - focus on secrecy is silly in the extreme.

Security is networked friendships through conversation media that curtails the secrecy vulnerability."

Pre-Operations Scaling

"... Yes, later this morning. Know that of all the companies with the substantial critical mass in technology and size necessary to be useful to help us rapidly scale, this one is it because of its identity presence.

"The alternative choice that has a very different but successful revenue model is watching in hopes of making up for lost time. They will be very open to our proposal if for any reason we need go to them. A strong rapport  has been nurtured over the years so we will be able to act quickly."

"Prioritize on a quality product for deserving customers -- making boat loads of money is much easier.

The customer target of this advertising is the natural ally of a kind, competent person, another kind competent person who realizes that folks focused on the universal means of exchange cannot hold a candle to individuals united.

Soup Review

"You know I am not your agent, right?" Woulda Coulda Shoulda said it, he thought. Get serious. It plays better in the abstraction engine one is closest to. And it can play tricks on a worrier. Count on it.

"Feelings hurt. But that visceral fortress could do major damage in reply. You see, hell hath no furry like a well rehearsed primitive dance of the dark self-interested kind. Flat tire, Ha! Try engine seizing up. Or other auto parts, like having lots of babies with NOTHING to do but consume."

Mixed metaphors aside, the clean answer is made up of the same words and phrases as the influenced one. There is pshyco-biochemistry explanation for why. The practical application?

Optimized to survive but still dedicated to change means the soup's appeal is connected to the higher-self. Lots of famous folks from the history of civilization have written about this phenomenon.

It makes for a tasty bowl of liquid nutrition often served hot.

"But trust me on this one, pictures done right on the global platform can be very social. Especially if they are instant, free and convenient."

Later that evening research revealed why a recently public company would offer a reported $1B for a 13 person co. Even reading between the lines suggested how important mobile was to monetization. Important for different reasons to founders, VCs and the newest shareholders.

Sounding like an old-fashioned TV Quiz show put the media hype in perspective for the few with an interest in the structure of pop culture. It also overlapped an important consideration for Us.

identify

"The viewer identifies with a silhouette that appears to be looking out at a background of people gathered, a moment of human triumph, good change prevailing or something of a similar feel."

Dreams are something we humans do. While awake and done together, they become unforgettable. And we remember them for a long long time.

I suspect most of us have a collection of such memories. I might be wrong. So, I am guessing if the campaign (if I may call it that) will first start in selected low risk venues to test the assumption that there is a warm spot in most minds.

Further, if activated, that commonality can be grown into a sustainable movement by providing a dynamic infrastructure that mimics the best of what has been already accomplished in social networks.
