Exceptional for Whom?

"Easy question to answer. No? Sort of like, 'Fiscal cliff for whom?"

"Meeting tonight. It would be the first in a long while for me. It may not be related.

"Conversation as manufacturing output is non-sequitor, right?"

"Sorry, I needn't be facetious."

Talking past each other in an effort to fool an audience that is not really paying attention. Purporting that a consensus building interchange is occurring and if anything that really matters comes up, audience members can jump-in as appropriate.

"We have trained experts to do what is needed so that all you really have to do is follow orders."

What Could Go Wrong?

"Organizing using feed-forward of error prone abstraction mechanisms is a red flag. Is it not?"

"With the benefit of hindsight, both abstraction imperfection and predictive filtering hazards can be analyzed far more easily than in realtime.

"The content driven hindsight window is the exciting part (for lack of a better term). At least it seems so. Context means much to the definition of hindsight and realtime here."

Combust

"Why? In the context of this information disease we call cancer, I mean."

"Try this: A quest to create meaning based on the passage of time. 'Go forth and multiply' (or something to that effect) is an example. Whose meaning is worthy and what is it."

"By abstracting essential functions, instructions can be distributed with economies of scale. I understand DNA transactions have this quality and our knowledge of how it works is accelerating."

Her idea was to the set the stage in lay terms. Not everything is caught that can pose a 'disassemble" danger by the highly-evolved immune system.

"Over-simplify and replicate, you fool." If he had left a few words out, it might have a whole different meaning. Complexity is not its solution. Nor is simplification."

Like A Silence Grows

There is one among us with a long record of reinforced feedback of a particularly destructive kind. There could be more, but that misses the main point.

"The specter of self-inflicted manipulated perception, with or without purposeful cause is fraught with risk. In a domain largely dependent on repeating patterns, free will can be and has been downright spooky. How many times we hear a salient fact of human visual perception - most of what we see is what we expect to see. Manage with caution and resist betting the farm."

She did not see it that way, apparently. And if that was, indeed, the case, her articulation of a counterpoint requires a certain openness on the part of the receiver that had yet to be adequately demonstrated.

Cross Check

"And what if those speaking to veracity regarding authenticity lack that quality in self reference?

"Self calibration, in this case, did not adequately include the deeper meaning of authentic."

He again felt a rush of confusing thought brought on by another sudden vigilance that had been 'not in focus' or 'off-the radar'. A whole class of these perceptions rose as one as the leading major denial collapsed. He seemed to recall having heard a flavor of systemic shame described this way.

The world would surely be better place if this destructive pattern could be neutralized in a way friendly to sentient beings. Making any insight better understood, meritorious.

Experience

McCullough tells the story of the artist's depression while in Paris and wanting to end it all at a bridge there. And when the long suffering creative had arrived, he looked around at the beautiful city and said, "But I don't want to die." That wonderful narrative voice conveying the most heartfelt descriptions of an artist's dark feeling turned to light seems as a good a platform for a life pivot as any. The stuff of history, well told.

"So when I saw on cell's caller ID who was calling, I knew it was a conversation I wanted to have, for better or for worse (I expected the former.) That conversation lead me here, dear reader. Back to a comfort I had not ever in my lifetime known until just a few years ago.

You see, this person I have known well enough to anticipate different and better. He dares to believe we do have something to say, and more importantly, to do, about our destiny, individually and collectively.

Public Executive Order

"He looked at us and said with heart-felt conviction, 'You did it.'

"In effect, that we in our actions have made it possible to turn the tide. Proving to each other that working together, our aspirations are more than empty rhetoric.

"Think about it. A full four years this time to achieve sustainable momentum. No more campaign distraction - a two term limit assures that."

Monster of the ID

Is now the time to see what connectivity can do with this fundamental challenge? It has its detractors. Think, "Too Much Information". From the perspective of the network infrastructure, this is not true. But for those for whom it is supposed to serve? Its an open question. Some of the stuff in there is so ugly it should be unspeakable, unknowable, unseeable etc? Who decides and how?

She said with deep sincerity and for good reason, "Never give up." Those that may have fallen on the metaphorical field of battle have not made a contract with darkness. It is for them, the admonition to rise again. And so it shall be. We cannot know now what form the light will take but rest assured it will shine. Meaning as foundation for life.

"Your sentences are incomplete."

"As are some of my thoughts. More or less, up and down as time marches forward. Is it so unusual?"

Can't Type That Fast

"You both have correctly concluded that I am Looney Tunes. Now what?"

He seemed to hear, "Is that a trick question?"

To which he had a quick reply … that dropped out of his awareness, instantaneously.

So what is the fascination that would drive a few bright folks to read this stuff? One could fantasize that it is of interest because it speaks generically to a common quest for new meaning. A bright side that some would view as irrational. Yes, Prudence. That view has its counterpart. Be afraid, very afraid. Much exists in-between and is probably more relevant."

"But Mom, I don't want to go there."

"Son, there is nothing to be afraid of."
