Loyalty

Those least troubled by this arrangement were rewarded with a measure of security for which they became accustomed. Then onto a familiar environment in a government job in domestic law-enforcement."

And in a robotic voice (speaking rarely), "My job is loyalty, nothing more, nothing less. I was told not to think, and that is precisely what I intend to not do ... sir."
