Paper?

I like the way it feels in my hand. It feels familiar. So far, I really like Facebook's Paper.

How do this fit with the FunctionOfUs plan? Another puzzle piece, I'll bet. Personal device that knows you and stays with you. Very low power Bluetooth and the right software/firmware will make Person work (see earlier references).

Bluetooth in a ring makes sense as it can keep your 'supercomputer' (latest iPhone, Android etc.) with you and connect you, as appropriate, to the rest the world. Nordic Semiconducter (others?) specializes in the chips that make  the ring cost effective and convenient.

Which?

Many communication choices. Too many?

The good news is there is a choice at all. Too many brands chasing an audience -- not so good. Admittedly I am not working with all cylinders firing (yet). Still, I can make the case that other folks are overwhelmed too.

Then alone comes Paper (Facebook) for my iPhone. Already I have this weird feeling - dealing my Fake Likes and being impressed with my first use of Paper.

It Lives

Cross-fertilization that is life -- emergent, if your free-will chooses.

I see it everywhere, now that I know where to look. Funny, how it turned out that way. Getting suddenly stupid turned out to be a good thing.

Stroke and aphasia can be a part of life too. Recovery from them - opportunity, I have learned.

Star

Early this morning I discovered that Luna, Jasmine’s dog was becoming famous on the internet.

But alas, it was only a dream.

When I awoke, the situation felt real. I saw the conversation in the comment section on my iPhone.

Coincidentally, I watched a skit on Portlandia using Netflix on my iPhone AFTER the dream. It was about a cat making a band famous.

Maybe it was something beyond mere chance, like Non-conscious Emergent Connections?

Fake Likes

As I have alluded to, I have been paying for Facebook advertising. The budget has been small, as I had assumed that learning what the issues are was prudent.

I have now set up a Google Alert for Fake Likes to discover the latest news on the subject. This is what it discovered already: Click the like below.

Achilles Heel?

Key to the ƒ(Us)™ rollout is connection access. Not a trivial matter. A leader in authentic digital person proxies (Person) has to be Facebook. Yet there seems to be glitch in this major function …

Meanwhile, if Portlandia encourages Google to build Google Fiber here, it might happen! It is where BuzzTheHill is produced.

Ghost

“Clean up the ham shack.” I heard some version of this throughout my 'youngster-hood". From time to time, humans make messes. I am a human.

Fascinating - the concept of ‘haunted’ and things related. Suspicions can run deep and sometimes manifest in illusory fashion. And so it was.

I remember running up the stairs from the basement imagining that someone or something was chasing me. Just like magic - when I reached the top the 'chase' ended. I won - many times.

Chronicles of Stupid

One a the most memorable occurrences of my young life — no doubt — was what I would call … Wait a minute, I am getting ahead of myself. First a bit of background.

A great article just appeared. Because of Google and perhaps others, I was made aware of it.

Admitting I was 'stupid' makes me less so ... maybe. Depends on the audience. Admittedly, I don't have much motive to chase the Fake Like folks. But I am seeing a silver lining.

Is it a connection to someone decades departed? Funny man, my dad. Self deprecating and very intelligent. And there were complications ('mistakes were made').

Rational Spirit

Some know the drill, as the post grows thanks to yours truly, I hope the reader will better understand my view of the topic.

I have personally known someone that has vigorously pursued the subject over much of his career. Further, the Buddhist and common sense teachings of Tensin Gyato fall right in line with this type of thinking. Mindfullness is a practice that engages the subtle intellect to make the world better.

"Two poles" that describe our experience "out there". Null and unity. Neither exist as experiential space-time but are useful because they summarize conceptually universal boundaries. This is the potential power of mind.

That there are so many of these entities in our little corner of the universe is a "very big deal" for Us now AND ƒ(Us)™.
