iBank, 80's version

Bitcoin enables the Persons of ƒ(Us)™?

A Person has one share and only one share of FunctionOfUs. As such, each has the same as each other Person in the entity’s proceeds over time. Two factors change that value. One - economic synergism in the size of Us (hopefully growing) and Two - the amount of incremental Bitcoin value in the Digital Wallets Us holds divided by the current membership population.

Google the above with the quotes and discover the source of the idea.

The use within ƒ(Us)™ is the isolation of personal data, while preserving buyer/seller transaction ownership.

First of all, Happy Birthday Jesus.

In Level 6 of the Dissolution game in Lumosity, I am noticing that I have not been paying attention to the puzzle piece outside shape. Maybe I can speed up my play using some strategy that includes it?

I'll bet that 'can't put it down' aspect of the games is by design. I hope the luminosity folks can keep the pace in company's mission.

Public Scrutiny

If the eavesdropping is so pervasive, then surely large scale criminal activity is a part of the record. Think about this for a moment, why don’t leaks of certain large private firms happen. Is it true there is nothing worth unauthorized disclosure to the public?

The state of the art may belong to certain private parties now that government oversight the fallen behind. How much of a mix of design and obsolescence is probably of less importance than who is competing with the referees (government) and why.

Leads

A lot of bad news about the internet. Seem some nefarious parties have gone high tech.

The good news is you do not have to turn it off. The good guys have gone "techie" too.

Did you here the one about RSA's BSafe back door?

Public key encryption has been around for quite awhile. I may be a little more digging is in order.

If my understanding is correct, public key in used in highly robust encryption applications and has proven itself. Keeping the private keys private is the challenge.

Lets say your personal device is an iPhone.

Because it linked it to you even while you are not using it, the iPhone causes your unique identity to be stored anonymously at one place at a particular time. Further, your privacy is protected from those who should not know.

The following paragraph is one I wrote in TextEdit. The one following it is the Google’s Chrome output at me speaking it. Notice the error in the last word.

This took several tries. Looked like the Google technology was extraordinarily capable. And just a day into my exposure to it.

Siri Secret

What would make voice exercises and as much fun as luminosity.com does for non verbal brain training? I talk ‘funny’ since the stroke - strangely rather than humorous. Practice, practice, practice. With whom?

Somebody suggested to Siri not too long ago. Just now, I googled "web voice recognition". After launching Chrome, I visited the voice recognition demonstration site the Google. I am quite sure this path is am pursing is the worth my while!

I am quite surprised at the accuracy of the Google speech recognition especially with my voice. Look at its output with me reading the last sentence, "I'm surprised app for accuracy of the Google speech recognition especially with my voice".

Great things could happen with the tools I have, could have and I could make. Fun!

So, here it is. I am out of the woods, so-to-speak. I will continue testing but it seems I am no longer at the mercy of what I've been calling the Genieo infection.

Communicate

An app that solicits input on seeking to engage in a productive conversation. The topic or topics of conversation?

I am struggling with the words. Synergism comes to mind. The equal components are individual beings that adhere to an evolving protocol of their own making.

A framework is necessary for the organic growth we expect - an constitution. A first order of "business" to original users of the app is to actively contribute to such a framework.

9 Lives of Radio

The are other characters in the RFM story besides, Sandy - one of first 'jocks' (DJ, not athlete). I just got off the phone with another, Bill Wolfenbarger.

Like yours truly, he worked at a legal station while in high school (yes, I worked at one too). Both stations were in small towns in Washington state. As Bill use to say of our adult supervision,"Nobody likes popular music". So we played it the evening - adults didn't listen to the radio at night.

Radio was fun for the people that embraced the new music - rock and roll. The great war was over (version 2.0) and people made babies (lots of them), us. Making love, not war before there was birth control - baby boom. Birds and the bees. Need I say more?

Local and Immediate

Lander Hall, Home of Marvick and RFM

Please excuse me if I jump around a bit. RFM was local radio, the real kind. None of the Radio Moscow or Voice of America stuff. Not even close. For awhile, listeners had to be in the music practice room next door.

The picture above was before the recent teardown (Lander on the right), but essentially the same as in the '60's. I hope to be able to include a picture of the RFM control room as it appeared to the Daily (student newspaper) at some point.

Unlike the Longview station we built in '59 this was 'carrier current' - almost legal. It was broadcast over the wall wiring and, at best, covered Lander and Terry Halls.

The U. in 64

I was a freshman at U & W studying E.E. I stayed at Lander Hall and my roommate had blonde hair, blue eyes and deep affection for soul music. His name was Sandy.

Unlike WKRP, this not was fiction.
The commercial radio station of choice in Seattle was KJR - the All Americans (DJs) played our music. The team to beat was 95 (on the radio dial). So 'try' we did … a teenager can dream can't he …

We talked Lander management into letting us use one of four music practice rooms in basement of the dormitory for our studio. World HQ of RFM (Radio Free Marvick) - our "house' was Marvick, on the third floor - but the action was downstairs.

By now, dear reader, you may have guessed where some of RFM 45's (plastic disks with a groove) came from ... do not end a sentence with a preposition.

Talking Points: Then and Now

I moved from Longview north 120 miles (as the crow flies) to the big city, Seattle to attend 'The U.' in the fall of 1964.

Rock & Roll was in my blood (still is) from my junior high school days. What else would we program on our bootleg radio station (KOOL) in 1959?

Fast forward to a place where young people are supposed to study (University of Washington). What else could I do but help start another rock radio station? My roommate, Sandy ...

Viral?

"Coolest" is a product design that could become a dynamite product. A friend is a founder and designer and works at the local coffee shop (like me). I will add some more to this post after I read more of the press kit.

More than just an ordinary cooler, it has a wireless connection to your smartphone for its detachable speaker for tunes. Further, and battery-powered blender, a lid light and bottle opener.

As I write this, yet another DIY inventor/entrepreneur has entered our conclave. I know her, but I digress …

Kickstarter may assist with start-up capital. Ryan (pictured), is the man with the plan. He has a prototype in his garage. The funding will finance the manufacturing molds and hire the engineers to put the Coolest on-the-shelf hopefully in August.

Aphasic Adventures

Your aphasic friend (me) is currently dealing with two challenges. Will I meet them with the good side of the "Force" or come crashing down in a big ball of flame?

Plain Rabbit Ears did not get many on-air channels so I thought an amplified (26db) one would do the trick. Plug it into the TV set and it should work, right? Well ...

Meanwhile, a smart phone app builder company advertised that I could make one easily. I could not do it, so far. I think I have a good idea of my handicap. The company, I'm not so sure. And that is probably putting it mildly.

Gravity

I was hoping to deliver a simple iOS/Android app this week. Their appears to be a glitch in the development tool. Stayed tuned to this station for updates in what it means to slip a software system launch date.

The company providing the tool that develops apps to customer specifications calls it "Permanent Beta" -- roughly the equivalent of "gravity may pull downward." It is important to fully grasp this point.

Too Fast

Skipping along the surface not realizing that enough of underlying story was being revealed. Headline news so-to-speak. Before, I fell into this without knowing the cost. After, a serendipitous fresh look, things have changed.

Before I say too much ... there is a litany of comments that come to my mind. I am becoming increasing aware in the value that luminosity.com is having in my recovery. My experience has taught me it is a well designed site. I would have said that even before my recent stoke, but since, something new and important.

My point here is I have now recognized the hazard of "headline junky". This is true at a number of levels. Screening stories at headline level is risky - motive and competence of person writing it is of paramount importance. Editorial policy may trump even that.

ID Wisdom

What would bind the each member to FunctionOfUs™? I am advocating ID wisdom, the connected knowledge that serves a single purpose, appropriate interests of each of its members.

As we have said before, the path to fully-valued individual deserves a vehicle unencumbered with "outside" agendas. To advance the goal, the organization must seek a dynamic balance between individual rights and collective benefits to all. No easy task.

Each member of FunctionOfUs™ is what we call Person. Every manager and board member is a Person. The glue that holds the whole together is a dynamic PROCESS we call ID Wisdom.

The is a precedent is human biology, the ways neurons grow in adaptive behavior. Online Google, Facebook and many others often use adaptive techniques to provide functionality beyond what can be explicitly programmed.

Secret Passage Way

Just before my life changing event, I was working on some really cool stuff. As my memory and/or recovery start to kick in, a new perspective is starting to emerge.

"Born again' holds special meaning to many. I am now among them, in manner of speaking. Experiencing something such as a natural birth, that is so profound to be equivalent on the level, is what I mean.

I speculated before in an abstract way, but it is not same as experiencing it. I am pretty sure I am there.

Potpourri

Normally reliable, my fiber optic internet connection has been slowing down. I spent 1.25 hours on a phone (timed on my iPhone) trying to track the problem with customer service/technical support yesterday. No resolution yet.

Just as I sat to wait for my ride, the speed test clocked 20 Mbs download to 16 Mbs upload. An just 20 minutes ago it was doing 1 Mbs and .5 Mbs. So, it might be the desktop. Joint Venture to rescue?

"Efficiency rather than speed." my SLP said yesterday. It was in reference to writing. Speaking out loud what I am about to write is an effective method for connecting (interna).  Taking long journey 'home' (aphasia recovery) with be less time consuming.

Lumosity.com is very well designed site. I enjoy my visits there, even though my scores are low for my age group. Progress is happening already though.

The FunctionOfUs™ Person

So what has caused the vast majority of people to aim their line of sight in wrong direction? I propose the reader assumes the argument to see how select observations support the conclusion.

Social networking based on current technology is leading to manifestation of what we can, Person. As mentioned before in the log, the fundamental atom to the social conversation is an real person. Real in the sense that one living human in the world of today is equivalent Person.

Hundreds of years ago, this was true too. So it is not modern technology dependent but it does rely on the connectivity that has been available only recently and the technology and growth in human cooperation as a result.

On a personal note, suffering a aphasic stroke the night of August 1st, 2013 has had interesting ramifications. The BuzzTheHill online writing was attempt at looking 'inside' by taking advantage of a prescription medication, as SSRI for first the first time in my life. If had a profound affect on my life as I perceived it. With a post most days to this blog, there continues to be a lot written about it.

Stay tuned, dear reader, and you too may hear something calling.

It is in There

It is almost entirely hidden without the code and instruments to detect it. Counterfeiting is a major problem but it also seems explorers are following false leads.

Clues are the word, 'inside' and phrase, 'from a fresh perspective.'

What is 'it' and why should it matter? I don't really know. In came in a dream (like before the stroke). I noticed it more this time - and in a different way. To early to explain it further. I will try again soon.

Time Is Now

Recently, both Facebook and Google have seen a run-up in their stock due to what the stock market calls, 'mobile'. Live people move - smart (often small) computers that move with them are more lifelike - think smart-phones, tablets. Especially if they are connected - to virtually everyone.

In the early eighties, my retinal identifier prototype was attached to a HP desktop. It was a natural fit since computer run an engineering oriented form of Basic language. Hewlett Packard was a hot company that built great stuff for high-tech inventors like me.

The bright folks at HP saw the future of networks and talked about the applications of heath care, engineering etc. They were very supportive of the mission to identify folk with their retinas. At the time, I wrote a letter to them (trying hard to impress them) saying of the coming personal computer, "... it will know its user and be connected the rest of the world."

Read the first paragraph again. Many are working on of the 'age of Aquarius' - so to speak. It is where most intend to look (pun intended) that has obscured the solution.

Accountable To Whom?

Wrestling with myself, or so it seems. I am reminded of an article I read just the other day. Check and balances built into our system of government to protect us from England.

The 'landslide' in my brain has caused an interesting conflict in the "running of me". Perhaps just the conscience awareness of such? The 'blah de din" seems to run on its on. It is more nuanced than frustration or isolation, though. Part of my brain may not relate to the way I communicated on the outside, but it is making sense on the inside.

On a somewhat related note - US will shutdown because of what a minority thinks? How is that related? "iyum sme ti ere wry", :-)

Where, When of Person

iBeacon (Bluetooth LE) -- is it one more step to Person? With regard to location granularity, it might be useful. Device possessor's identity, exactly where and when can be known by the beanonowner and/or net too.

Let us think this through. The beacon has a camera associated with it - an eye, so-to-speak. Perhaps other person specific sensors as well.

I am imagining a graphic -- the net entity (cloud) and Person (as defined) as the two main elements and two circuits between them. An local one at where/when/who and the highly de-centralized FunctionOfUs™ are the endpoints for each circuit.

What Is Person

With regard to moving to the cloud (Eric Schmidt says it is inevitable), the Person link, the connection between individuals and the cloud is an important piece that has not quite arrived yet.

The two biggest technological components exist, identification (biometrics, passwords etc) and the recently established personal web (Google, Facebook, Twitter etc.) I would argue the mandatory link is still weak, however. It is a big job and organizations, large and small are working at a torrid pace.

Each time I put a little time in before I read this post again, I detect more errors. The writing is better though and tremendously satisfying.

Practice, practice, practice.

Now writing a much as I am able. Which, of course, means that I am reading as much as possible. When I asked my by at-home speech therapist what she would do if she were in my shoes she said, "Read".

I am quite interested in the shutdown of the US government. Reading about it is very easy - the cloud is full of articles. Reading them while keeping my critical thinking hat on is an exercise that is important to me now. Just cranking out words has little meaning to my intellect and ability to communicate.

Forbidden or Not

To be truthful, I was dreading my trip to the medical-industrial complex (translation: hospital) for what had to be…  But wait, that was the serotonin deprived individual of two months and change ago of recent history. Despite for "fog" and health scare, I know it was me because I remember it very well.

Cardia Rehab was not what I had remembered it some twenty two years ago, nice folks, great equipment and a nice facility. My memory, the emotional part, probably darkened my view. You see, has it has been my pattern. So, is it clinical depression (funny name)? Fun to discover in a lighter the mood a deeper nuance of a ostensibly dark experience.

The first experience with the out-patient speech therapist happened too. Not a moment wasted on my side - I was fairly exhausted from morning activities. It it included visually processing  tests, since I had expressed an interest in driving again. The driving evaluation showed my needing to recover that skill again.

Busy Here. Overstimulate.

A visit to a medical care facility (OHSU) yesterday was extraordinary efficient considering the tests were done and interpretation of them by the nurse practitioner. I was grateful because it has seemed long time coming and my post-event depression is easing up a bit.

At a coffee shop in the morning - it was small plus very busy. My MacBook having a difficult time connecting to wi-fi. All together, I was brain re-training overload. We were waiting while the alignment and tires got replaced to the Prius, a two hour wait. A good test of my writing skills and multi-tasking progress.

The secular argument for compassion for me has come to light.

Remembering before that fateful day of August 1st and the so-called arrival at an academic understanding of fuzzy logic of it all.

Yesterday, an old friend had come my for a visit. I was grateful he would come on such short notice. Even though my speech is still impaired, he was conversing with me. From the early days of my hospital stay he has witnessed my progress.

The technical and publishing of our conversion was what the doctor ordered, as we had through the decades long relationship. I felt  "normal" the again. Mania - I think not.

Augmented Reflection?

I have been experimenting with conceptualizing other foundational components in the system disclosed before August First largely because having read related material in the news.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/04/nsa-gchq-attack-tor-network-encryption

Nearly twenty years ago, a Michael Chricton novel was made into a motion picture, Disclosure. It dealt with, among the things, various aspects of the titled term. So too interconnected parts aspect of fully actualized connected person cooperative. As we have seen, powerful entities may process strong interests that are counter-productive (nation states (e.g. Russia, big owner suppliers to government agencies (e.g. NSA)).

A person cooperative are constructed entities that output(s) disclosures that select a continuum of secret to public, internal and/or external.

Nameless Epiphany

Lotus flower is about to bloom, is the metaphor. I woke up this morning and it happened. Forgive me, I am at loss for words to explain - as you can tell from my more recent posts, I have got an excuse. Let me try though.

It feels like there is a inside connection, as if an auxiliary channel opened up. Forgive me electronic reference, I refer to my brain.

Meanwhile my speech therapist gave me an exercise - speaking a list of paired words with either similar or opposite meaning and I answering out loud to which it was. As she proceeded through the list, I begin to slow my time to respond.

I wrote a sentence quickly for a Facebook post and left out the verb, 'teach'. It tried to be funny in the mistake and got "deeper into the weeds" so-to-speak.

What did the speech therapist call it? Was it "verbal apraxia".

A cure for talking too much? Could I have been guilty of that? Seems a bit harsh - a stroke. But this does bring a point of interest in my habits of hearing.

Plasticity

Speech Language Pathologist - no idea of what that meant until now. No reason to. The speech center is truly fascinating -- especially from inside out.

Communications through spoken and written word takes an extraordinary coordination below the level of consciousness. Not a surprise, such is the largely hidden complexity of the human mind.

Conversations

Speech, though improving, is far from that before the stroke.

Ambitions for writing seem far away - a few sentences barely poor out out me. I notice the difference, spelling is better, there are fewer wrong words but adding 's' to words.

Engaging conversations on which I wrote frequently have been put on hold. Finding a substitute for that joy in the intermin will need addressing.

Already, they are ideas coming to my mind.

Driving Again?

Driving again would be a worthy goal - six to eight months of additional time may be required. The physical well being is coming along nicely. But experts are saying that building cognitive speed apparently happens more slowly.

Tests today to access my response time were to slow. It reminded of my improving but sluggish reading ability since the brain damage due to the stroke.

Joint Incentive

Yes, you will encounter mistakes of various kinds, especially since the stroke. I'll make comments brief, unless I am just practicing on myself (the brain makes new but it is a complex task recovering and will take time I am told).

http://guardianlv.com/2013/09/new-iphone-sells-9-million-despite-security-fears/

With regard to previous recent posts on person, my view is a mobile device (such the shown Phone 5s) may be pivatol part of the breakthrough to 'us and them'. It provides in security in depth to both parties at near ideal place, the person. Your fingerprint not is only thing that identifies you to EACH side.

What else identifies its mobile owner for each application will be an evolving process. From least risky toward higher value exchanges as the appropriate systems mature.

Apple's iCloud advantage is low-cost merchandise (such as music) to experiment on initially - Amazon, Facebook too. A temporary breach would be relatively harmless until such time as a solution can be found.

From this perspective, Apple and maybe Facebook seem to have an inside track. What if something entirely different make sense?

Person-Centric

Authentic communication is a software/networking/personal play as much anything.

Biometrics and various kinds of identification are not today's answer anymore. In in integrated solution, they are a part, though.

"Coupling transparent behavior measures, such a mobile device location and owner ID over time, provide a cost-effective means to secure the product of human interaction". It is has been said so many ways before, it hardly bears repeating. I propose the salient point is an integrated person centric system (mobile device, client software, network etc.).

I am iPhone user and can imagine the iCloud, plus "missing modules" for the person-centric whole. I would be surprised that Apple designers/engineers are hard at work on the problem. Google with their Android and massive network is another candidate. Facebook too, of course.

From my corner of the universe, there may be a missing piece or two ...

Person, Before and Since

There are two main thrusts to the 'Person' story as mentioned in this log, the one before August 1st and one after.

The new story is very important to me in ways am I just beginning to understand. Communicating again is a big part of it. Something I have taken as a given, is difficult but ultimately rewarding work.

What can I say? It is much more personal. I am not alone in this quest. Stroke of aphasic kind does happen to other people too.

The 'Person' log thread overlays my personal story since August because I left "brain tracks" recently here on the subject such as this post.

Bigger Than That

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/20/al-franken-iphone-fingerprint_n_3961852.html

Please excuse the stumbling of my writing (see September 4 post).

How does one identify oneself in a growing super-computer in your pocket mobile world? A dear friend recommended a Hufffington Post article to me. In it Senator Al Franken in a letter to Tim Cook, CEO of Apple brings up the "elephant in room" in the potential misuse Touch ID in the recently released 5S iPhone, fingerprint biometric and counterfeit identification.

There is much more to the evolving bigger story, I believe. Before August, I began an exploration into what elements are missing in the story. As readers may have noticed, I think it is better than it appears.

'New' Me

Seeds abound and fade away almost as quickly nowadays.

I want to write as quickly as before. Post aphasic stroke, that is likely a dream. More likely a 'new' person (me) developed over a period of time writing my thoughts. My word, the not necessary theirs.

Some words are coming faster the before. It seems high priority meaning has something to do the increase. There is synergistic a relationship between clarified thought and with ease the I write about it.

Subjects Past, Were Again.

Pre-stroke, I had wandered in technological and scientific fields. I found them fascinating having a inventor mind set. Seven weeks after that life-changing experience, some small amout of the material engages me.

People I have known may have peeked my newfound interest again. Tree-like structures that have long limbs, persons one has known. Maybe, long connections in the brain that lead somewhere for brain 'wreck'.

['inventor' rather than wrong word 'investor']

Stroked

Time was once, so I remembered. Certain memories are often about when they occurred, though. Stroked recently, I wondered. I dear friend recommended Fierce Grace, so I watched. Perhaps this was my comment.

Ram Dass first book, Be Here Now implies the special, maybe the only, time? I meant 'now' rather historical time.

Journey

Hearing with some the clarity but reading at times difficult. Writing and speaking are most trying. Spelling, wrong word being written, wrong sequence (sometimes dyslexia) and so forth trouble my writing. Motor planning, part of the right face around the the mouth area being numb and hearing are among my speaking impediments.

'A rocky road up' the seems to best to describe the effort.

Dark Side

"Imagination grows in a sometimes unhealthy direction. She and I get caught up in that? At least I do - as decades of vivid memory serves.

"Destructive imagination, in this sense, subtracts from the whole."

It does not much sense over time.

Where Are Blueprints?

Wrote a paragraph for the first time since my stroke. It appeared as if by magic. I was surprised, it was spontaneous. Lends credence to notion that connection is what the brain wants to do. No longer large a abstract in longer my head. Experience, plain and simple.

Life is Change

The BuzzTheHill author (me) had an aphasia stroke, August 1st, 2013. Can't write ... yet.

Take The Wheel

"… the instrument cluster in each Person's cockpit.

"It is visible on the world connected device you hold in your hand and is 'for your eyes only'. Need I say more?"

"Yes, actually. Are you talking about the car or the driver?"

"All the above and more. Start YOUR engine."

Ocean Sunrise

"In less than 24 hours, I will attend a meeting that is hopefully the first of many. It was prompted by the unexpected flood of interest in the log from the east Pacific and the recent breakout performance of the online company on which it occurred."

"They are related?"

"It seems so."

KOOL Moon Bounce

… when KOOL was put off the air by a government agency (the FCC) I was so incensed that I became an … active conservative. Take breath now. Sucked into the Longview great mud lake not to emerge completely until decades later.

You see, a person as obsessed with pretty girls with brains as I and clueless in the extreme as to their thought processes, I needed a plan. Rock and Roll and broadcasting at age 13 was at its core.

More than a half century has passed. The FCC is not the boss of me anymore. I have the internet! Facebook, Google, Apple, wireless and on and on.

The antidote to mindless authorities (government, MOST ESPECIALLY corporate, the true religion etc.) is … wait for it … technology fueled DEMOCRACY!

So I am not talking about a K Street corrupted federal agency or the socially delinquent big owners driving it from behind a curtain.

"Kansas, you are on notice. The dog is back and wagging its tail."
