Days Creek Special

As my father told it, he was on his high school basketball team. He was short and not very fast. Born in 1915, so his senior year would have been, say, 1932.

Days Creek back in those days had a small graduating class. Dad claimed it was eight kids ...

You see Dad was a particularly resourceful guy. He learned how to shoot the ball from half court VERY ACCURATELY.  He demonstrated with the hoop in our driveway. I heard the story several times - but who is counting.

He never claimed that his method influenced Rick Barry, The timing could have been right though - on not.
