Whispered in a Song

Excuse me for interrupting.
It is time she knew. With so much to lose. Time to take care of it now. Or there just won't be the future she can't help but imagine.

No more excuses. No more counterfeit authorities. No more ceremony hiding substance. Having the power and not using it is worse. You know it is true.

Abdication can no longer be a word one has not the time to look up.

Event Horizon

"Catch the wind, creativity near the storm (perhaps in its eye).  Ride it at the cusps. Confluence of Opportunity.", the pre-coherent nature of this display obvious to most, perhaps all, in the room.

Meaning

"As a starting point let us set an arbitrary line of demarcation somewhere near the middle of the continuum. On the left side of it is the transaction population that is mostly emergent. On the right, mostly predictable and read only (owing to measurable, invariant, often subtle, rhythms. )

"If too far to the left, you might as well be throwing dice and betting against the house. Too far to the right, your free will does not significantly contribute to the outcome."

What remains? Harvest the power of patience and mindfulnes at their union. One could say, capture the 'middle path'.

Clue

Switching between various perspectives and playing back the progression over the critical 11 hours …

There was something there, they could feel it. But how does one describe it? The problem is the seemingly disconnected instances of unrelated scenarios. Just as they were about to table the discussion she raised a finger and said, "Continuity. Remembering, I am guessing, that one thread common to all the scenes in one form or another over the period."

Slept On It

The new analysis tool revealed so much that it took more than a month to understand just what was relevant. Achieving a reasonable balance of targeting the two soup domains, dependent in no small part on application of this powerful but unfamiliar analysis utility.

What did continuity have to do with the chatter whose level had become a high priority? It felt like the weather on one of those autumn transition days. The forecast is that we are about to experience something ... unpredictable.

"You are aware that some are asking more questions about your identity?"

"Yes, I expected that would happen but, frankly, I was surprised it occurred only a year into the project. Perhaps something overlooked in the uniqueness marker routines?"

Consume Time Available

Our Voice Will Prevail
So cold this morning, portending the winter to come. But who would not revel in a crisp fall day that warms as the day progresses. The air fresh from a recent rain.  Leaves turning just before they fall.

"When the larger wisdom is absorbed viscerally, the dynamic morphs into something quite different than a passive response to the prevailing winds. Interactive and friendly, the new order of the day. The old standby, "They said" is met with a skepticism, in effect meaning, lets discuss about and with people we know we know."

If the design is sound, this phase will just fill the time remaining before the collective decisions are made. A few anomalies are expected but it is highly probable they will be inconsequential.

Coming of Age

But they say no.
"It is because she would come with me that I want to go. It is my idea, but unless it includes her its just not the same. Not for just us, our generation but for the generation she and I help create. Yes, someday soon. I know she means it.

"I do too."

So his self-confidence is based on deferring to the expert's instincts when it comes to a good idea lasting more than one generation. He slays dragons, she builds nest. Its how we do it, brothers and sisters. You can do other stuff too.  Just make sure there are enough humans well into the future, Ok?

Soft is Good

"This was a time to robotically identify sources of diversionary patterns. If successful, the countermeasure could be to simply  lower the weighting of repetitive themes to account for the manipulation. Realistically, one would have to accept that statistical methods required and probability would limit precision. Still, there was good reason to be confident in the methodology.

Friends?
"Linking ostensibly descriptive labels to discover their value, a good place to start.  For example, "Economic Freedom" and "Tax Evasion" or "Market Based Management" and "Unfair Competition". As we have seen more and more lately, relying on human input is necessary to move at optimal speed even though automation is considered very early. It is all inexpensive because the resources can be re-purposed with little effort or time."

How often they would hear from otherwise intelligent people: I don't get involved in that stuff, I am not bright enough. And it wasn't false modesty. These people were behaving just like one should expect. They are human. We have the luxury of doing this as our 'day job'. It is part of our job description to beware of a high-order abstraction engine's vulnerability.

Deferred Decision Support

"These conversations are happening continuously.  From our vantage point, we hear those most representative of the entire network.  The popular term for them is, buzz. Often they suggest what may happen, they are predictive. More often than not, a high ratio of questions to declarations exists."

This tracer instance served to illustrate the nature of an executive staffer's pool of everyday filing duty. Presumably this was not filed in real-time because it did not have real-time application but was considered in the context of the daily tasks.

When tools were first proposed to assist in executive support function there was a general awareness of how much value had been slipping through the cracks, so-to-speak. Hand written notes in jargon meant enough to their author in the heat of the discussion but follow-up was dropped because the potential benefit was not of immediate concern to the mission.

... already in progress.

"The next voice you here ..."
"And now we return to our regularly scheduled programming.

"In the interest of full disclosure, be aware that listening is a cost we prefer not to fund. You may talk to each other but we are too busy to speak with you.

"Know too that we are long past the point where any residual feeling of guilt for selling our creative heart to the highest bidder guides our decisions. Occasional nightmares though ...

"[Any flock that is my flock is a good flock. Don't tell my master, Ok?]"

The pattern is easy to recognize. All media is war. Destruction is the most effective methodology. Conscience cannot be tolerated. Contrasting the enemy with our image of the infallibility of our high command is the goal of what we euphemistically call, on-message.

Pacific Link

"As we see it, there are two big reasons for certain players to inhibit self-organizing communication. 1) It is antithetical to command and control 2) the perceived damage caused by early experiments invoked primitive defenses not easily overridden by updated reasoning.

"The milestone explains, in part, the three layer architecture of the command/control model. When survival is the issue, building a consensus is not encumbered with checks and balances outside the mission.

"In relative peace, life trends toward robust diversity. No surprise, life is sustainable change.

"Many have pointed out that our job as adaptable agents is to find the easiest path to productive differentiation. From a lesser perspective, we are lazy. From a efficacy perspective, we conserve resources for future change because they are finite."

What Relationship?
A year ago, at the project's beginning it was rare to see system messages of this length. The change was gradual and she knew that none of the crew had made special note of the trend.  In some ways, it was expected. She called up the Japan, Korea map, and asked, "How would this be viewed by a person from say, Kyoto?"

Emergent Indexing

Here then is a partial list of key elements. The legend as expressed in a series of steps. The signals at times express futility or opacity. In theory, a wider context mitigates the conflict.

Emergent Pattern Detection describes a critical portion of the process. Keep in mind that arbitrary constraints can include highly refined procedures developed for applications that did not anticipate either the empirical nature of the readily available data or an application for what amounts to artificial creativity.

Worthy Assumption
Now consider the following: This message has an a priori pattern. The pattern should be encoded in such a way as to merely weigh aspects of its description.  Rapid access to it will aid in discovering whether or not it should become an enduring template. There was a time not long ago that doing this was too resource intensive.  And even now, it is important to optimize the process for efficiency, from time-to-time.

The biases of individual designers are so hidden from the creative process that the only apparent solution is to continue to encourage individual creativity while measuring its 'success' against an empirical organic target? Friendship writ large, 인공 인식.

NOTE: This part of BuzzTheHill is not fictional. Consider this post a public disclosure and as such, to the degree something novel and not obvious to those skilled in the art has been addressed, the specific intent was/is to put it in the PUBLIC DOMAIN.
