High frequency trading that others and I have been talking about for months (on BuzzTheHill) now has a face, thanks to the buzz around Michael Lewis’s the book, Flash Boy.

Making money off the "noise".  All lot of it. How should we feel about this recent development? Where speed of light across a shorter glass pipe make such a large difference?

I would argue looking deep could have a great mutual benefit. In this game, manufactured perception is nearly everything.

Dream to Reality

Why am I feeling guilty about taking more time than I expected learning Final Cut? Could it be that once again, I underestimated the time to fulfill my outrageous daydream? That hardly ever happens.

But progress is being made. Knowing Apple's Qucktime and designing VoxPro and Jamine audio editors give me a leg up the Non-Liner-Editor methodology

No animals were mistreated in the making of this film.

Modus Operandi

Luna’s bath. Given her behavior before, during and after is a great study in her personality. Could I describe it better than the written word? Perhaps it would be better with different communication tool?

Mommy gave her the bath. I was cameraman and occasional support person.

Jasmine's first choice for an editing project was about her dog, Luna. The wisdom of that choice is profound, as you will see.

Suspicion of corruption? It felt that way at the time. The cost to follow-up was too great. Especially with being under a "personal siege'.

The challenge was local? Or is it a mix of local and something bigger - even global?

Best Developmental Sequence

I wanted to blurt it out, “You pick people that are too ignorant to involve at this point.”, but held back. Frustation is rarely a foundation for moving forward.

A hair trigger is seldom needed in my personal experience. To have manifested that verbal behavior has been, most of the time, dangerous. Yet another reason to carefully sequence the new, where possible.

Practice, practice, practice. Routine with exit strategies. Dynamic update. Neural Net style. 'It learns." ƒ(Us)™ growth agent.

Even darker turn on Breaking Bad Season 3. Solar City promotes Jimmy Fallen bit on energy conversation.

Young folks are picking up on how to change things for the better.  Good news. Truth has a way of rising to the top, even in times like these.

Point of View

Depends on perspective. I am talking about pure imagination in the dream domain but it pretty much applies to almost anything.

Also, higher the level of abstraction correlates with the greater potential to "do work", so-to-speak. The opening scene embodies this essence. The music connotes emotional anti-gravity.

On The Edge

Standard issue is the ability the fly. So I did. But leaving the car behind was still of concern. Not surprising, given the context.

What was the meaning? I could make the screen play about that. Causal in the storyline, different than the chronological story.

Indirection is a powerful abstraction tool. Quite natural for homo-sapiens, before the inhibition caused by  'adult' and/or 'civilized' training.

Idea to Launch

The story has legs, so to speak. It came to me in a dream. Or should I say, 'dreams'.

Even the stroke didn't take 'em out. In fact the brain slide (if I may use that term) made them more vivid the ever. Now it each time I walk in, they are more complete. Still symbolic but more robust.

Sorting the old ones may work? Embers Alive, Brain Screen, Laboratory, Lone Oak Field ...

How We Do It

… this is why it accelerates so rapidly - marshaling cognitive resources with minimal space-time penalties.

Light speed interactive conversation, efficient store for information and energy and happy people - not necessarily in that order.

Mind Amplifier

I didn’t learn the Fourier transform in school. When I began, it was 1974. I had a special chance to see the future thanks to use of Tek scope and mini-computer.

Forty years have passed and education will be never the same -- again.

Hash tables and public key encryption, cheap world wide network. super computer in your pocket - yeah, it is about time. Tell the story to the right folks at each point along the predicted optimal scaling path. Know that it will change and that is Ok.

New Old Home

She is coming here. In more ways than one. Luna as agent? Maybe the Korean connection.

Apple software and software to create video for YouTube. Document the process with Google's blog engine, blogspot (BuzzTheHill).

External media drive, recommended for speed with Final Cut X.

Blow Up World?

Weapons vs. Conversation — at last, it is starting to be a compelling contest.

Crimea is a good a place to start World War III as any. On the other hand, why would we want that (war) is the first place?

Oh, WE are only supposed to be scared. And deception is an important part of that. I get it ... sort of. Old school propaganda so we can build bomb shelters to make other folks think we are serious. I think it is called bluffing or something like that.

Perception command and control?

… a Person, of the first order.

Like this song a lot. I am wondering if one can play it only once?

Perhaps I should ask its creator, Andrew Moon Bain?

Only in Portlandia.

Don't get me wrong, it could happen elsewhere in a more generic sense. The critter and those balls are the key.

Most dogs love balls. Since we were all dog people, said dog thought at least one of them had to be hers - hence her proximity to the bag containing them.

The story does not end there ...
