IBM and Others

Quoting Buzz:

Seeing a dramatization of what I experienced in real life, made my jaw drop, so-to-speak. The series Halt and Catch Fire made it happen. Watch it all, if you choose - easy to consume wisdom, from my view.

Signal the rest of my mind; Synchronized Cramping. It is and doorway to the new invention. By involving as much as the whole mind one's resources are brought to bear on a new way to make things better.

Follow my thinking:

Woke up this morning with an inspiring dream.
Body ached as before.
My CHF exacerbation has ended for now,
No need for Kleenex today.

Balanced pain throughout my body.
Realized it felt like certain past yoga sessions.
Reaching muscles that are out of shape?

I will leave the contribution to the invention for the class as a homework assignment. Hint: Deep Connection == Resilience.

Another Segue

The throne of our ruler.
Quoting  Buzz:

Segueing from the last episode of Flaked to the video of Procol Harum’s  Whiter Shade of Pale. Seemed like it was the last song playing.

Listening to it on the Dog House studio monitors and watching it on the iMac17 27 inch 5k screen.

Then on to Red Dirt Girl sung by First Aid Kit. The song writer, Emmy Lou Harris was there at the 2015 Polar Music Prize ceremony to honor her.

Such is the life of one of the two Aphasic Dudes at the Dog House. I live here.

Dog House Control Room

Quoting Buzz:

I am in the process of updating the control room at Hibbard Studio. The key component is a new iMac. I bought it because of the need for speed in film production.

The faster control room design will soon achieve a better parity with my current level of creativity.

One goal is a better teleconference capability. The latest Call Recorder plug-in works well with Final Cut Pro to provide a seamless source for my interviews, most notably with Judy. You will likely see the results soon.

I have nicknamed our studio “Dog House”. Most of you know why.

Elevator Pitch

My elevator pitch:

I am producing a movie about transformation of my life after my aphasic stroke.
I can’t talk as well now - a blessing in disguise.
Writing better than ever, though.
Using tech to do it.

Collaboration with my sister - a quantum leap.

Studying 1984

Orwell’s book, 1984 - I didn’t just passably consume the content. I studied it. It has had great meaning to me, now that my brain is re-connecting - a silver lining to the injury I experienced in August 2013.

Because I have the Kindle and Audible edition and have watched the film, the elements as they relate to me, have high value. I can access them at will.

Had I read the book when I was younger, my active imagination would have made it very disturbing - without the intellectual stimulus.

Room 101

Quoting Buzz:

“I do not like torture in fiction, in film, as a concept etc. It was personally frightening to me. In the book, 1984 it was necessary for the story. Orwell told his story well.

“Room 101 for Buzz? I perceive it as different, post-stroke. Torture is still just as disgusting as before, but now I see it for what it is - what can go very wrong with human’s minds.

“Fearing the concept makes it stronger. A better emotion is accepting that it must to be changed and to use creative means to push eradication, wherever possible.

“One of the steps is filter propaganda - hard to do but worth the effort - incoming but especially outgoing.”

Now == 1984

Buzz is reading and listening to the book, 1984. Thought Police indeed. The charge against the NSA, as Snowden pointed out, rings of Big Brother and the Thought Police. No wonder the book is selling like crazy again.

This great piece of literature is timeless, in that it was first published at the time Buzz was born following the second world war until now, January of 2017 - seven decades.

Quoting Buzz:

“In the news today, there are protests of the Muslim and refugee ban caused by the executive order of President Trump.

“I wondered at the so-called news when the interpretation of certain historical accounts some time ago - I am guessing about 2012 - when the headlines did not match current events. It was documented in my blog.

“Perhaps it was “priming the pump” for what is happening now?”

Heuristics Revisited

Reading about the term heuristic in January of 2017, Buzz is impressed with how much deeper it is than what he had assumed since he first became aware of the word.

Quoting Buzz:

“The combination of the stroke induced rebuilding of my brain, Michael Lewis’ books and internet has caused an image to begin being formed.

“Like looking at a visual perception my mind creates after I close my eyes, clearing the conscious thoughts and see what my brain is showing me. Only this time, I have my eyes open.

“Listening to The Undoing Project, has stimulated me to explore my inner space. I am getting better at doing this by becoming more aware of my minds tools, abstract ideas that are connected.”

My CHF

AlexTheHill interpreting for Buzz;

Buzz and I are experiencing what if feels like when the heart can’t keep up. We have felt it before but could not “identify” it adequately. Not in a way that was, in retrospect, a unique personal kind of meaning to him.

It has happened and another major insight has been added to the sequence.

With regard to our story, CHF gives it timeliness. Buzz needs to be alive, in the classical sense, to contribute his history until the present time.

Entrepreneur

After a discussion with Buzz, Alex says:

“One of the great Oregon entrepreneurs said it best, betting on a dream is a way to start a growing business.

Nickname starts with: "Bu" and is four letters long.

“Dreaming, more than what is dreamt, gets the mind’s predictive possibility mechanism activated. Kids do it naturally - even better when there is collaboration.

“If it is rewarded in childhood, it becomes stronger. Making new is easier. Better coarse correction is acquired. What would have been failure, teaches. This chain can continue.

“But it can be interrupted. When that happens, it is a remarkable lesson ... or not."

“Farble?”
