Money Politics
"We could start by just getting stolen money out of our political system."

"Wait a minute. That is most of it. Who would vote for that? Think of the unemployment. Too many jobs in this country are dependent on stealing in one form or another and making sure it is spent on efficiently maintaining the resulting cash flow (ie: through owned media, bribes etc.)

Sarcasm is violently opposed by some. Why exactly is this so? Is there a common theme to the back stories?

Perhaps well-advised to look further.
