Local and Immediate

Lander Hall, Home of Marvick and RFM

Please excuse me if I jump around a bit. RFM was local radio, the real kind. None of the Radio Moscow or Voice of America stuff. Not even close. For awhile, listeners had to be in the music practice room next door.

The picture above was before the recent teardown (Lander on the right), but essentially the same as in the '60's. I hope to be able to include a picture of the RFM control room as it appeared to the Daily (student newspaper) at some point.

Unlike the Longview station we built in '59 this was 'carrier current' - almost legal. It was broadcast over the wall wiring and, at best, covered Lander and Terry Halls.
