Camp Runamucka

"No doubt about it, we were cutting edge. Imagine family camping in a new '56 Cadillac. You have to understand, this was in the days when full size cars were the size of small oil-tankers.

"The standard issue jargon for these adventures was 'roughing it'. We had all the fun of war with no casualties. Imagine hazing sans consequences. Shaming was not just allowed but encouraged to handle 'hazzee' uprisings or the potential thereof.

"There is us and there is them. Taking from them means more for us.

"Don't tell anybody."

More than half-century ago. Cadillac camping, that is. If 'Turn a Blind Eye' wasn't bringing the world economy to a halt now, it would be funny or at least nostalgic. Maybe not.
