License to Practice

"It is NOT a license to steal. Nor is liberty. I am pretty sure that applies to ownership as well. A nation built to last is about its people, not just its 'owned' property or a privileged subset of its population."

"Professional associations have something in common with labor unions. What are some differences that matter in the current state of our representative democracy?"

One expects a vigorous defense of the for-profit medical model. When should a conflict-of-interest be investigated in this context? Should there be such a conflict, what remedy might be available?

"Maybe we should pick on the lawyers instead? Most of them are toast anyway.", her tone was humorous. Not everyone was laughing.
