Not Alone

"It suggests that self-organizing of this type is not only possible, it is probable. As we have seen, defense mechanisms of previously successful entities have developed immunity systems that have to be circumvented. Each generation of such systems become more sophisticated in preventing competition.  Occasionally they manifest an ability to recognize the mostly rare opportunity for symbiotic cooperation."

"An identity that does not exist cannot be discovered. The idea can and likely will."

The speculation was not generated in a vacuum. Once used to starting from this 'useful perception' they were far less likely to dispose of what appeared to be 'hunches'. There was a time, not so long ago, that theorizing was the methodology of necessity.

As connectedness took hold, the opportunity to discover empirically blossomed. Old habits kept the mainstream from harvesting it, though.

"The interviewer too?"
